Seven Years!

Seven years ago Al shoved cake into my face and its been an adventure ever since!!

I can't believe that it's been 7 years!!  Time flies!

For our anniversary we went to Ruth's Chris for dinner - yum!  We don't go here a ton and when we leave I always wonder why we don't go here more, we both love it!  Oh yeah, because it costs like $200!  But so worth it!

This is exactly why I love coming here for our anniversary - they make you feel so special!  And you get a free dessert! :)

Don't worry, we ordered an extra dessert too!

After dinner Al BEGGED me to watch our wedding video and I finally gave in! :) JK - pretty sure I beg him to watch this with me all year long!  Such fun memories!
PS the below is a SnapChat to my sisters, my handwriting is much better than that normally!

Another year down - can't wait to see what this next year will bring!

SIX YEARS!!

On June 27th we celebrated our SIX year anniversary! I really can't believe its been 6 years, I feel so old! We had such a fun day!

Chalkboard in our kitchen where we write messages to each other

We woke up bright and early to go do sealings - perfect way to start off our anniversary!

After work we went to dinner at one of our places, Cucina Toscana, yum!

After dinner, instead of driving home, Al drove to The Grand America! I was so surprised! He talked to my boss and got the next day off of work for me so we could just sleep in, order breakfast, etc. It was so fun to have the day off and relax.  The cutest part was that Al packed a little over night bag for me - so funny/cute to see the clothes, pjs, hair products, makeup, etc that he packed for me!

We ended the night watching our wedding video - my favorite part of the day since we only watch it on our anniversary! I am so cheesy and love watching it!

Thanks Al for the best 6 years of my life!

3 Year Anniversary

For our past anniversaries we have always taken a trip, we went to Cali for our one year anniversary and for our second year we went to Vegas. This year for our anniversary present we are going to New York in September!

Since we weren't going to be out of town for our anniversary this year we decided to take a little day trip up to Logan! Alan loves Logan so we thought it'd be fun to go to the Logan Temple and eat dinner at Maddox.
I had never been to Logan before and it is so pretty up there! The temple was gorgeous
(pretty outdated on the inside but the outside was so pretty!) and Maddox was sooo good. The rolls and raspberry butter was amazing!
We ended the night with going to see The Proposal. It was the perfect day and so much fun to get away and see a part of Utah that I had never been to.

NOW...we have both been to NYC before, but not for a long time so if any of you have input on where to stay for a good price/location, what plays to see, where to eat, what to do feel, etc., feel free to weigh in PLEASE!

3 years ago from today….

I got engaged!! Crazy that it was 3 years ago. It seems like yesterday, but at the same time it seems like a lifetime ago! Since I have never written this story down anywhere I am going to tell you all how it happened…

The summary of our dating life goes like this—we met at a party in May of 2005 and didn’t really talk, then I saw him and his friends at BBQ a few weeks later and his friend got my number to hang out with our friends sometime. A day or two later his friend called me and I never called him back! So about a week later Alan called me to hang out but I already had plans that night. So the next day at work (me and my best friend worked for a radio station at the time) I got tickets to an airplane show at the Clark Planetarium. Me and Bitty really wanted to go and take dates but I had no one to ask. It just so happened that Al texted me that day saying that I missed out on the Kalai concert the night before. So I bravely asked HIM out on our first date! We went with Bit and Todd (I still want pictures from that night Todd!). We ate at CPK, went to the Clark Planetarium show and then us four went back to my parents to hung out in their backyard until about 2am.

I really think it was “love at first sight” even though we had plenty of drama for the next few months thanks to me (boyfriends, ex-boyfriends, missionaries, etc.) After the drama passed a couple of months later, we starting dating more seriously. One thing led to another and we decided to get married! Al was into the surprise factor with the ring but I wanted to pick it out so I went ring shopping with my friend and picked out what I basically wanted and then Al took over from there.

Now on to the proposal…For the one time in our relationship I was actually surprised! Al was always, and still is, so bad at surprises. He can never get me something or do something for me without me knowing about it first. So when it came to the proposal I always figured that I would know when it was going to happen. But not this time!

At the time in our relationship I was living at “Douglas St” with a bunch of girls and I shared a room with Priscila. During that time Al and I were way into watching 24 on DVD. If you know me you know that I LOVE sleep and to go to bed early so I would usually only let us watch one or two episodes. But one Saturday night I happened to be way into it and made Al stay over until like 2 am watching it. Then he left, I went to bed and the next morning at 6am I got woken up to this song blasting in my room. It was one of “our songs” but I was still so confused and Priscila was just laughing. I got up and next to my bed were flowers, a letter, and a clue. I started crying of course while reading the letter and the clue led me to my car. There was another clue at my car leading my to our first date, so I went to Clark Planetarium, then I got led to CPK, the house we first met at, my parents, etc and the final clue let me to our first kiss. Well our first kiss was behind his parents house up in the mountains while on a four wheeler ride so I was a little scared for that. I drove to his parents and his whole family was there to give me warm clothes and they had the four wheeler all started up for me. I am so afraid of anything remotely dangerous so I was freaking out inside but I got on the four wheeler and headed up the mountain. Along the way there were arrows and letters leading the way. At the top of a big hill there was a sign telling me to stop, so I did and Al walked up and proposed! It was so cute! We went on a ride for awhile and then went back to his parents for breakfast and to watch the first session of conference (it was conference Sunday) then we went to my parents and watched the last session with them.

It was such a fun day that I will never forget. I was completely shocked and so surprised! Thanks for proposing to me three years ago Al, I don’t know what I’d do without you!

Mamma Mia Weekend

Last weekend we took a quick trip to Vegas to see Mamma Mia! We had so much fun! Mamma Mia was SO cute, I loved it. And we had front row seats! I cant wait to see the movie now! We went to the pool both days, went shopping, ate dinner, and of course ate at In-N-Out. It was a short little getaway but it was the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary!

Happy Anniversary!

Today is our 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!! I really cant believe its already been two years...time really does fly by when your having fun. I feel like our wedding day was yesterday! So much has happened during the past two years and I'm so grateful for such an amazing husband. We have both grown and learned so much from each other. I have the best hubby in the world who puts up with me and will do anything for me, including taking me to Vegas this weekend to see Mamma Mia. He knows my obsession for Broadway plays and is willing to travel to another state to see them with me-if that's not a good husband I don't know what is! I feel so blessed to have married such an incredible guy, I really couldn't have dreamed up a better husband! I love you Al and I cant wait for the years to come! Happy Anniversary!
