Ellen!

So - long story short, I love the Ellen show. I think it's hilarious and I record it every day! I knew we were going to California with my family in May so I started applying for May tickets and a few months back I got that call that I got tickets! Unfortunately the tickets were for a taping 2 weeks before we were planning to go out there! We tried to change the date but Ellen wasn't going to be taping when we were there with my family so we decided to still go to the show, but make it a SUPER quick trip since we were going back 2 weeks later for a week! When I say it was a quick trip - I mean it!

Our first stop in LA was to our fav place, Randy's Donuts - yum!

We then went to Santa Monica to check out the pier, beach, shops, etc. It was a gorgeous day!

After Santa Monica we drove over to Beverly Hills to walk around and drive through all the a.maz.ing neighborhoods.

 

We headed to Burbank for lunch and then to the Warner Brothers studios for the show!

I had to get a pic with the huge Vampire Diaries sign because I'm OBSESSED!

Then off to Ellen!!

They let the audience turn on their phones for 5 minutes to hurry and take a pic to post to Instagram with the hashtag #ImAtEllen! I was so excited that we could take a pic in the studio!

Our guests were:

Steve Carell - so awesome, he was hilarious! 

Brooklyn Decker (Andy Roddick's wife) - I loved her in Just Go With It so I was excited to see her and she was super cute.

And Bobby Brown - blah! He was kinda weird and pretty awkward - but nicer to the audience than Steve or Brooklyn was!

It was such a fun, quick getaway and we have more tickets to a show in the fall so I'm excited to go back!

extreme makeover

In the midst of Meg's wedding, our anniversary, etc, Extreme Makeover Home Edition was building a house down the street from mine so I knew I had to find time to go over there and be a part of it. I went with my sister Katie and and my friend Megan to volunteer at the second day of building. Because it was so early on and they were framing the house there wasn't much work for three scrawny girls!

Our first task, thanks to a guy in my ward who was in charge of volunteers, gave us the lovely job of smashing down the garbage in the dumpster. From below it didn't seem to bad...all we could see were a bunch of boxes and rubble from the house--until we actually got up in it and discovered that it was full of food, boxes, drinks, etc. SICK! Luckily there were enough boxes for us to break down and coverup the gross stuff and then we were able to stomp it all down. It was gross, but it needed to be done so we were glad to help!

After that we helped in the catering tent with food, waters, etc.

It was fun being able to see the "behind the scenes" of the show and see how things really work and Im glad I was able to be a part of it. Stay tuned for the episode this fall!

who is with me on this? she is absolutely darling, like america's sweetheart--except from canada. i am totally loving this season. she is natural, so pretty, cute clothes, down to earth, funny...and i love the guys this season. but please tell me that you agree with me on the fact that there are so many look-a-likes??

aMeRiCaN iDoL!!!

Last night I went to the American Idol concert with two of my sisters and it was AMAZING! My dad got the tickets for us on Monday and he got us 5th row on the floor--they were awesome! Most of you learned from THIS post how obsessed I am with David Archuleta, (ya he's 17 and Im 23 & married, big deal) so I was extremely excited to see him. But I watched American Idol religiously this season so I couldnt wait to see them all, and they did not disappoint! Archie was especially awesome when he sang Apologize by One Republic. It was so much fun and Im so glad I got to go...thanks for the awsome seats dad!

David!!!

so basically i'm obsessed with david archuleta! it hasn't always been this way, i've liked him all season but i've never been obsessed. the obsession started when we decided to go to murray high last friday for utah's "david archuleta day!" we had so much fun! it was nuts-there were so many crazy fans there! it was so fun seeing and hearing him in person, he's so cute and really does have an amazing voice!

i'm just sad now because i hope he doesn't go all "crazy hollywood."

unfortunately right when i pulled out my camera it died! luckily priscila came with her friend from work so she took a lot of pics, but then hers ended up dying! fortunately we had camera phones! here's are some pics...
